What To Bring

We ask that dress be modest and appropriate to the situations you will be in when spending a week on a mission trip.  Wear loose-fitting clothing  and work clothes that could be ruined.  You MUST bring knee length shorts!!! 

T-shirts  (no tank tops, halters, spaghetti straps, muscle shirts, sleeveless shirts or clothing that reveal undergarments, midriffs or chests).  

Athletic shoes or other shoes appropriate for work that you don't mind getting dirty or wet at work sites. You must have closed-toe shoes.  Clothes for free time and evening programs (remember to be modest in your dress).  Swim suits (remember to be modest), sunscreen, lip balm, hat to protect you from the sun, sun glasses, swim fins, snorkels and boogie boards.  We are only minutes to the beach!  Sleeping bag, bedding, camping pad or air mattress (we sleep on the floor) and a pillow.  Personal toiletries (soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothbrush, etc.).

Beach towel, bath towel, wash cloth. Sandals and flip flops (but cannot be worn at the work sites during the day).  Bible, pen and journal.  Insect repellent, flashlight.  Water bottle!! Very important!!

ALL youth cell phones WILL be left at Hearts of Palm during the day while working at the ministry work sites.

What Not to Bring

Anything that is not replaceable or has significant value, such as expensive jewelry.  Drugs, alcohol, knives, guns, weapons of any kind.  Clothing that is obscene, vulgar, abusive, or has discriminatory language or images. Clothing that advertises or promotes alcohol, chemical, tobacco, weapons or any other illegal product.  Clothing that represents hate groups, is gang-related or contains threatening language.
